«Huo» in this context is almost definitely from Mandarin Chinese η« (huo3) which means fire. This common character is part of many other words like train, gunpowder, and angry.«Jin» could be a number of things, but it’s most likely ι (jin1) which means metal. Metal doesn’t appear in Warcraft’s pantheon of elements, but it is a member of the five traditional Chinese elements (δΊθ‘ wu3 xing2) when grouped with earth, water, fire, and wood. You might see the character in the (untranslated) name of many Chinese restaurants, because it also means «gold» and is included for good luck.
Note that the corresponding Alliance faction is ΠΠ°Π½Π΄Π°ΡΠ΅Π½Ρ Π’ΡΡΡΠΉ which incorporates the names of the elements for earth and water (ε, ζ°΄ respectively).
Also related is that the Huojin faction’s leader is named Firepaw.

I hadn’t seen this mentioned anywhere, so I had to waste dozens of hours to figure this out.Easiest way to grind this is to do normal/heroic UP runs. Heroic gives you a chance at the mount — but normal grant 15+ rep per kill, not to mention they can still be killed very quickly. You get the same rep in both heroic and normal UP, but that is not true of UK or some others (where you get ~3 rep per kill in normal), although I imagine HoL/HoS might award nice reputation. You can get, like, 10k-15k rep per hour with this method.
Exact numbers: On average I got 2343 rep per run where each run took 7 minutes 12 seconds. That’s ~11700 rep for ~36 minutes of work followed by 24 minutes of watching your favorite family guy episode for your instance lock to reset.
Tip with this method: Run past sorrowgrave all the way to the room with the beasts and the orb (forget the name, but its the optional beasts boss). Click on the orb to activate that fight, and then run back to handle Sorrowgrave. By the time you’ve killed sorrowgrave, a beast will get to the room. You kill it. Then you kill the next beast on your way to Skadi. Then you kill the boss when killing Skadi. Doing it this way eliminates much of the waiting for sorrowgrave/beasts.
Hope this helps people.

A handy way of getting rep with this faction is to enter Shadow Labyrinth, On normal each mob gives around 6-17 rep +5-6 rep for their companions depending on whether you have the guild perk. Also while you in there you can collect the marks of sargeras and the Fel armaments that can be traded in for Aldor/Scryers rep. The instance also has 4 easy to kill bosses that award around 300 rep, being a repeatable dungeon on normal should be a favorable option for your Huojin Pandaren rep grind.ΠΠΎΠΌΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΠΎΡ rogermw
You will get «spillover» rep with this faction if you do any quests that give rep with other Horde factions, but only to 5999/6000 Friendly. If you are using the tabard for reputation:Just so you know, I put in a ticket regarding the tabard not working in certain dungeons and this is the response I got from the GM. It seems that they do not work in dungeons that already give faction specific reputation gains.
«The city tabards actually have some hidden restrictions. They city tabards won’t work in the Burning Crusade dungeons and won’t work in the early Wrath of the Lich King dungeons. The tabard will start working again once you start doing the level 80 wrath of the lich king dungeons. «

Just to verify on what another said in this thread — the single fastest way to get rep is Shadow Labyrinth, NOT Utgarde Pinnacle. I made ~3500 rep per run (3460 or so), and was able to complete the runs in under 6 mins (that’s from beginning to end, and then running all the way back out). That gives me a faster clear time than the 7ish mins it takes to clear Utgarde Pinnacle, and I made over 1k more rep per run (Roughly 17k rep per 5 runs, as that is the max you can do in an hour). UP doesn’t even compare.ΠΠΎΠΌΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΠΎΡ glycereth

For me, I just wore the tabard in my daily Sethekk Halls run, then took a couple min, and cleared mana tombes (no Yor). Another option for grinding rep is Vortex Pinnacle (Normal). With bonuses you get about 2100 rep per complete clear. At a leisurely pace it takes ~17 minutes. Two things are nice:
- You get around 30 ΠΠ΅ΡΡΡΠΎΠΉΡΠΈΠ²ΡΠΉ Π²ΠΎΠ·Π΄ΡΡ , which is (still) worth 300-600g as of the end of 2013. Volatiles are still useful for making bags. That gives you 1-2k/hour in addition to whatever else drops.
- There’s a handy vortex at the end that will take you right back to the start.

Like it has been said many times, Shadow Labyrinth normal is the best imo. Took me 7 minutes with speed boosts to clear it all, loot, reset instance and vendor. Keeping Marks of Sargeras or Fel Armament things grants extra Rep with Aldor/Scryers. Sold tons of cloth as well. One run = 3 and a half bars of rep on revered. Took me about 1 hour to get from friendly to exalted. If the Darkmoon Faire is on make sure to get that Rep + XP boost from the carousel for that little bit extra. I got the Huojin Tabard from Disciple Jusi located next to the MoP portal in Orgrimmar — and then went to Sethekk Halls and Shadow Labyrinth — Heroic mode and was getting rep for Lower City and Huojin Pandaren(15/5 for mobs and 300 for bosses). Now, the buggy thing about this is make sure the Huojin Tabard is equipped and in the tabard slot — do not just have it in your bags. I noticed it would end up in my bags each time I entered the instance and had to equip it several times. Was not in a guild at the time I was running this and went from approx 2100 — 4200 on rep. Just a suggestion, perhaps, for those trying to grind rep.Although Shadow Labyrinth does give the best amount of rep per run, I find it keeps things interesting to kill two birds with one stone and knock out some Π‘Π»Π°Π²Π° Π³Π΅ΡΠΎΡ achievements. Most bosses give 330 rep, you can pull entire rooms and aoe mobs down for a little extra rep, in addition to a decent amount of gold if you sell items and trash. Achievements and mounts for all! Ok, so for me, I found running older dungeons didn’t give rep for Huojin Pandaren — it would instead give reputation for Horde, of which Huojin Pandaren is a part of. «Tu» and «shui» can be a great number of words in Mandarin Chinese, but given the context it’s very likely Blizzard selected them based on ε (tu3) and ζ°΄ (shui3) which translate to earth and water respectively. These are two of the five Chinese traditional elements (δΊθ‘ wu3 xing2) which also include wood (ζ¨), fire (η«), and metal (ι).These characters form the basis of many other common words loaned from Chinese, such as the fengshui (ι£ζ°΄) practice of arranging things harmoniously. They also appear frequently in artistic forms like the background of The Last Airbender’s opening credits.
The Horde branch of the race, ΠΠ°Π½Π΄Π°ΡΠ΅Π½Ρ Π₯ΠΎΡΠ·ΠΈΠ½Ρ, similarly derives its name from the terms for fire and metal.

I posted this over on the page for ΠΠ°Π½Π΄Π°ΡΠ΅Π½Ρ Π₯ΠΎΡΠ·ΠΈΠ½Ρ. It’s seemed to have helped a lot of people, so I’m copying it here in case anyone can get any use of it:I hadn’t seen this mentioned anywhere, so I had to waste dozens of hours to figure this out.
Easiest way to grind this is to do normal/heroic UP runs.
Addendum: A replier also mentioned that running normal mode Shadow Vaults is also very fast, because of how long it is and how many mobs it has (you can get more rep per run, even though runs take longer, since you end up getting locked out anyway).
Up to you.

I found a very good way to farm reputation with these. Running Halls of Lightning in Storm Peaks over and over.1. Theres plenty of mobs literally in the whole instance. They dont hit hard and you can pull A LOT.
2. You get the same amount of repuation in normal as you get in Heroic mode. Per mob you get 18 rep ( as human ) + guild perk and 360 per boss. Using your guild banner gives you even more.
3. I suggest you use the banner ( too bad it has 10 min cd, but when you can ) in the first room. Together with all mobs + the patroling boss is the best time to use the banner. I did a fast calculate and theres around 30-40 mobs + the boss around the first area.
Once you are done you run out, reset, and start over. Took me a few hours only to reach exalted.
Happy farming!
Edit: Dont forge to loot trash / greens etc. I also made a few thousands of gold on the runs as well.

No one else seems to have said it, but this faction is pretty much absent from most of Pandaria and I find that to be quite a disappointment. Perhaps Blizzard has something up their sleeves for a later patch, but as of right now any of the other factions (even the Tillers) could be considered more important than this ‘member’ of the Alliance in my opinion.ΠΠΎΠΌΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΠΎΡ krstyng

I’m currently farming this rep at level 100 and I wanted to provide some updated information. It’s worth noting I’m human — so if you are not you will get slightly less. I did not use banner of cooperation. Im ilvl 632 — but I imagine it’s entirely possible to do with less.
I did not test TBC Heroics.
Cata heroics no longer give full rep in heroic mode: 88 rep her boss, 3 to 22 rep per dungeon mob. Average rep per dungeon is 500 rep.
Since it’s been possible to solo MOP heroics for sometime now here is what I’ve found. Ill only go into specifics on the best ones I found:
Shado-pan Monastary : 4 Bosses and ample trash packs. Your gains here will depend on what class you play and how much time you want to spend killing trash and if you have immunities which will allow you to click the Slain Shado-Pan Defender without being interrupted so you can kill the trash packs around it. Without clicking this mob, the others will not die so keep that in mind ( even at level 100) . The Ethereal Sha’s and Diciples give no rep — everything else does. As a Paladin I bubbled and clicked the Slain Shado-Pan Defenders in each pack and was therefore able to kill everything in this instance. I also released the additional sha’s on Sha on Violence. In total I got 3256 rep for one run.
Scholomance: 5 Bosses and ample trash packs. There are no mechanics in this dungeon which require immunities to kill trash. I will note though that since you do not kill Lillian Voss she gives no rep. Instructor Slade only gives 22 rep. On the Chillheart fight kill the trash before you engage the boss, I lost out on approximately 300 rep from not doing this as she kills them when she is engaged. Despite these little quirks I still got 2842 Rep, but more is possible if you don’t mess up on Chillheart.
Seige of Niuzao 3 Bosses, but alot of trash. You will need to focus down the Amber Weavers so you don’t get caught in sap. The trash for Commander Vo’Jak during his encounter does not give rep. Battle Menders need to be focused or interrupted. Sik-Thik Soldiers gave 5 rep and everything else gave 22. In total I got 3301 Rep in here.
At this point I got exalted so I could not test all of them in this detail, but I chose the dungeons based on the number of bosses and trash packs from experience doing them in MOP. Scarlet Halls probably would of been another very good one with all the trash packs. I would suggest doing this one as well.
I will note that the monkeys before Ook-Ook and the bunnies before Hoptalus do not provide rep in Stormstout Brewery. In general I think any mass spawning of mobs during or before a boss encounter or not likely to provide rep at all.
The best way to get rep for Tushui is doing MOP heroics. It’s not worth only clearing trash and resetting as some of the trash packs are gated behind boss kills. You can also farm normal modes and you will get roughly the same rep as doing a cata heroic for rep.
I didn’t test rep gains while I was in WOD Dungeons.

Fastest way to gain Exalted status with this faction, is to have the Tabard equipped, then running Gate of the Setting Sun on Normal difficulty over and over again. You can easily get 12000+ Reputation each hour with this.ΠΠΎΠΌΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΠΎΡ Verillak

Heroic Upper Blackrock Spire gives 5654 reputation if you kill everything in there (including in particular the trapped whelps that you need to release). A full run takes 15 minutes, including travel from Dalaran (Broken Shore) via Stormwind, and then hearthing back (if you’re Alliance). It’s not a good option to grind everything in a day, but can be practical otherwise. You can speed up Tharbek by going behind the gates that open and close, to kill the mobs as soon as they spawn. If you do this, don’t forget to go back into the main room when the boss spawns. After the gate closes for the last time, there’s no way out of the spawn room.

Interestingly not required for Ambassador of the Alliance, but required for Pandaren Ambassador. This *might* have a *direct correlation* with the fact that Aysa and Ji, (the leaders of the Pandaren who joined the Alliance and the Horde, respectively), are in a couple and just hanging out in the Wandering Isle, not caring at all for this quote-on-quote war.ΠΠΎΠΌΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΠΎΡ never00

Bit of updated info as a 120 ilevel360 BM Hunter farming this rep. i found no dungeons that awarded more rep then others (Vanilla to Legion), altho i did find Shado-Pan Monestry and Seige of Niuzao had more mobs, closer together for easy mode farming. I keybound target to ‘T’ and multi-shot to 5, it would take me 7 to 10 mins for a clear. Run a few during MoP Timewalking, received about 2.5k rep per run. 20 rep for trash and 400 rep for bosses.Edit: the best lower level dungeons i found were deadmines and stormwind stockade. 3-4 rep each for trash. 60 for a boss in SS and 80 in Deadmines.
